Hi, I’m Irene, the owner and cake designer behind Veg on Board.
I’ve always loved being creative. Drawing, sewing, baking, cooking - anything hands-on where I could be artistic and create something from scratch, that’s always been my thing.
When I became vegan, I spent lots of time in the kitchen figuring out how to remake the foods I grew up with vegan. I wanted it to taste good, look beautiful, and still feel special.
Veg on Board actually started with plant-based charcuterie boards and catering. I loved putting them together and styling everything so it felt abundant and inviting. But for years I’ve also loved baking and cake decorating -creating sculpted cakes, the piping, stacking tiers, all the little details. Cakes just clicked for me. Over time that became my focus.
Today, Veg on Board is a boutique plant-based cake studio based on Long Island, NY. I create custom cakes and desserts for celebrations of all kinds, that are beautiful, and taste as good as they look for anyone who’s vegan, has dietary allergies, or just loves good cake.
I also care deeply about animals and I believe we can enjoy beautiful, delicious food without causing them harm.
It’s an honor to play a small role in life’s most meaningful celebrations - from weddings and bridal showers to birthdays and growing families. Food is my artistic medium, and every cake is made with care, love and always vegan.
