A Vegan Tiramisu Wedding Cake for Leah and Emanuel in Glen Cove, NY
A whole wedding tiramisu? Yes, please!
Leah and Emanuel hired me to make their wedding cake. The couple celebrated at a private waterfront estate in Glen Cove, with their ceremony held by the water.
For their wedding, I created a large vegan tiramisu with custom details, along with 10 individual tiramisu desserts served in martini glasses.
Made from Scratch, Layer by Layer
This tiramisu started with my vanilla cake, layered with espresso soak, my vegan marscopone made from scratch, and my vegan whipped cream. Everything was finished off with a dusting of cocoa powder.
For this tiramisu wedding cake, I had an acrylic tray custom-made measuring 18 X 24 inches. I loved being able to see the layers through the sides. The espresso soaked cake and creamy filling was part of the presentation.
This tiramisu was super heavy! Getting a dessert this size ready for delivery takes some planning and a little muscle.
Custom Details for the Newlyweds
Leah had requested “Just Married 09-06-26” to be added to the top of the cake.
I’ve seen similar designs made with stencils, but I wanted the lettering to stay crisp. I thought about using a stencil and powdered sugar, but I was worried things would move around during transport and delivery and cause it to get smudged or covered with the cocoa powder . And since their reception was outdoors by the water, I was also concerned about it being windy, so instead I had acrylic lettering custom made.
Well, it was VERY windy that evening! When I arrived to deliver the tiramisu, the planner mentioned everything was flying everywhere, so I was extra happy I went with the acrylic lettering!
The white lettering stood out beautifully against the cocoa, with the piped border framing the whole design.
Tiramisu in Martini Glasses
Alongside the large vegan tiramisu, I made 10 individual portions in martini glasses, each with the same homemade cake, espresso soak, creamy layers, and cocoa finish.
The glasses showed off the layers in a different way and made such a pretty addition to the dessert.
Once I delivered the tiramisu desserts at the estate, I placed the acrylic lettering on top of the cake for the finishing touch.
Thank you, Leah and Emanuel, for choosing Veg on Board to make something sweet and a little different for your wedding day!
