A winter wedding in Brooklyn! I had the opportunity to create both a vegan wedding cake and a 6 foot vegan grazing table for an intimate wedding at Prospect Park Picnic House.
A Winter Wedding at Prospect Park Picnic House
Located right inside Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, the Picnic House is such a unique setting for a New York City wedding. The space has an open interior, large windows, (which bring in so much beautiful natural light), a working wood burning fireplace, and access to the park, giving couples the feeling of being surrounded by nature while still celebrating indoors.
The venue can accommodate larger weddings, but it also works beautifully for smaller celebrations like this one. With around 40 -50 guests, this January wedding felt intimate and cozy.
A Vintage Vegan Wedding Cake
For the wedding cake, I created a two tier vegan cake with vintage inspired buttercream piping. The smaller two tier was perfect for the guest count while still giving the couple a traditional tiered wedding cake for their celebration and cake cutting photos.
I love creating smaller wedding cakes just as much as the large statement cakes. A more intimate guest count doesnt mean you have to give up having a beautiful tiered wedding cake as part of your day.

A Six Foot Vegan Grazing Table
Along with the cake, I created a six foot vegan grazing table for the couple and their guests.
The table was filled with a variety of vegan cheeses and meats, dips, spreads, fresh and dried fruits, garden fresh crudité, breads, crackers and sweets throughout. This couple had specifically requested figs, pomegranate and fruits like black grapes and black olives for a moody look. Fresh florals and greenery matching the rest of the wedding aesthetic and colors finished the display and helped make the grazing table feel like part of the wedding door rather than simply a place to grab food.
Grazing tables are so abundant and colorful. Even for a more intimate wedding, the 6 foot display made a beautiful statement in the room and gave guests plenty to enjoy throughout the celebration.

Vegan Weddings in New York
Having the cake and grazing table created together allows the food to feel cohesive with the celebration while giving guests plenty of vegan options to enjoy.
This intimate ProspectPark Picnic House wedding was such a beautiful way to start the year, a winter wedding in Brooklyn, a vintage vegan wedding cake and a grazing table created especially for the celebration.
